Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

What are Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)?

Key performance indicators (KPIs) are visual indicators tied to pre-defined, critical thresholds. When thresholds are crossed, key personnel are alerted so action can be taken. KPIs are most often used in monitoring sales, targets, revenue etc. as well as financial or production indicators. Visualizations of KPIs allow users to grasp key indicators at a glance e.g. + is good, – is bad, or green is ok and red is stop.
