I’m excited to share with you a summary of the important features we’ve released in the first half of this year. We’ve been working hard to enhance everyone’s experience and provide all customers with powerful tools for data analysis and visualization.
Let’s dive into the key improvements across several areas:
Data Analysis & Visualization
We’ve introduced several new features to make your data analysis and visualization more powerful and user-friendly:
Radar Chart:
Compare performance across multiple values in different areas with this new chart type.
Chart Positioning and Axis Enhancements:
Gain more control over chart layouts with manual offset adjustments for X/Y and Pie charts. This helps avoid too much truncation when you have data labels with long text values.
Self-service Table Charts:
Empower end users to customize table chart configurations directly from the Dashboard View widget. You can now offer features like adding/removing columns, multi-column sorting, and moving columns. Check out our interactive demo on table charts for more.
Dark Theme:
Create visually appealing dashboards with our new Dark theme, which includes additional customization options for canvas and panel background colors.
Support for ThemeId Property:
Easily apply existing themes to your dashboards using the new themeId
attribute. This is great for offering users a light mode / dark mode toggle in your interface.
Enhanced See Data Action:
This builds on a feature that quickly became popular with users. The “See Data” click action now extends functionality to metrics, providing more insights into your visualizations.
Improved Exporting and Scheduling
We’ve enhanced our exporting capabilities:
- Schedule Exporting: Configure scheduled exports and customize file names for your convenience.
- Download Manager Improvements: Enjoy a better user interface for managing exports and schedules, now with support for internationalization, locale formatting, and timezones.
Automation and Workflow Enhancements
- Data Load Finish Trigger: Automate processes based on completed data load jobs with this new trigger in Automation flows.
- RLS Security Enhancements: We’ve improved our record-level security (RLS) configuration to ensure consistent application when workflows are triggered.
Data Preparation and Connectivity
We’ve expanded our MongoDB Connector with support for the Aggregation Framework, giving you more flexibility in working with MongoDB data.
Content Deployment Enhancements
- Dataset Mapping Enhancements: We’ve improved our mapping algorithm for more robust Content Deployment.
- Improved Record Size Limit: Content Deployment now supports larger numbers and sizes of assets within a single package.
Architectural & Performance Improvements
Version 8.4 brings significant architectural improvements, resulting in faster installation and upgrade times (reduced to around 1 hour) for both new instances and upgrades from version 8.4. In addition, we added:
- NodeJS 20 Upgrade: We’ve upgraded to Node.js version 20, ensuring long-term support and improved performance.
- Dashboard Performance Improvements: Experience significantly faster load and render times for your dashboards.
Bug Fixes and General Improvements
We’ve addressed various issues to improve data integrity, synchronization, and overall user experience. Some key fixes include:
- Improved handling of object arrays in datasets and visualizations
- Enhanced data sync processes for joined and composite datasets
- Better support for favorite datasets in API responses
- Resolved issues with join operations involving flat transformations
