Bucketing

What is Bucketing?

Also known as data binning, is a pre-processing technique for grouping continuous data into bins or buckets to reduce the effects of minor observation errors. In machine learning, bucketing is used to convert a feature into multiple binary features called buckets or bins, based on value range. Chopping ranges of temperatures into discrete bins is an example of bucketing.
