What is a Data Warehouse?

A data warehouse is an archive of historical information, a central repository of integrated data that is added to by a business or other organization over time. Data warehouses can be developed by systems that extract data from operating systems and integrate data from different sources. Some of the benefits of data warehouses are providing the opportunity to improve the quality of data and modifying the data structures to be understood by business users easily.
