Active Directory

What is Active Directory?

Active Directory (AD) is a database and set of services connecting users with network resources. It helps to organize an organization’s hierarchy and contains information about what users and computers there are and who’s allowed to do what. A database of user accounts, job title, phone number, passwords and permissions can be an example of Active Directory.

Active Directory services control much of what goes on in your IT environment making sure each person is authenticated by checking the user ID and password and allow access only to data they’re allowed to use and simplifies life of end users and administrators while elevating
security for organizations.
