REST API

What is a REST API?

Representational State Transfer (REST) defines a set of constraints for how the architecture of an Internet-scale distributed hypermedia system, such as the Web, behaves such as the ability to handle multiple types of calls, return different data formats and even change structurally within hypermedia. REST normally uses HTTP for Web APIs.
